If you or a loved one has suffered an injury after receiving a Medtronic Infuse bone graft product, CALL US TODAY!

In 2002, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of Medtronic Infuse for low back spinal fusion surgeries utilizing the frontal approach.  Since then, however thousands of neck and low back surgeries have been performed on patients using non-approved techniques.  Infuse is used as a bone-growth stimulator in spinal surgeries to fuse the spinal disks and is designed to minimize the complexity of these surgical procedures.  A recent report has found that patients who received Medtronic Infuse have experienced serious and life-threatening complications such as, cancer, pain and infection.  In addition, other major adverse side effects include male sterility and serious respiratory problems that occur shortly after surgery.

New research is casting doubt on the validity of many of the initial studies sponsored by Medtronic due to findings of inconsistencies with the initial research. It is reported that Medtronic paid researchers millions of dollars to participate in these studies. After new data was compiled, it has been found that most of the initial researchers either minimized the side effects or failed to document them altogether. An investigation by the Senate Finance Committee is currently underway to look into allegations that researchers and other medical professionals who had a financial stake in the product failed to report any serious complications when conducting their research.
