What is Zevalin® and Ibritumomab Tiuxetan?
Zevalin® (Ibritumomab Tiuxetan) is a protein called monoclonal antibody which is used to treat a certain type of cancer called non-Hodgkin's lymphoma along with other products.
Zevalin® side effects
In October 2005, the manufacturer of Zevalin® warned that Zevalin® and its generic version Ibritumomab Tiuxetan can cause extremely serious and even sometimes fatal skin reactions.
The label of these drugs has been immediately changed to include a black box that indicates the risks of rare but potentially fatal side effects including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, bullous dermatitis, exfoliative dermatitis and erythema multiforme.
